Bad Prophecies Of The End

Last updated 01/2017

The end of the world is coming, but needs some preparations first

  • We are currently in some crazy geopolitical circumstances (Matthew 24:5-8)
    • The wars are intensifying and the risks of wars are increasing
    • The famines and earthquakes are also sporadic, but we’re still waiting
  • There’s reason to expect a few years for it to happen
    • We need a few things to streamline the transition into a single world government (Revelation 13:1-7, Daniel 7:16-24)
      • There is talk about moving to an international single time zone, which would streamline the transition
      • There are several differences between government accounting systems (IASB vs FASB) that need to be reconciled
    • Israel still needs to be at peace with its neighbors (Ezekiel 38-39)
      • There is a prophecy that modern-day Iran will be part of a 10-nation alliance that will attack Israel (Psalm 83:1-8, Ezekiel 38:1-6)
      • Russia will be a part of that alliance (Gog) and they have to become a military superpower again
    • A 3rd Jewish temple hasn’t been made yet
      • The sacrifices have to be re-established in the temple for the Antichrist to defile it (Ezekiel 37:26-28, Matthew 24:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)
    • We don’t see many false Christs right now (Matthew 24:24)
  • At the same time, many elements are already in place
    • Israel has been brought back as a nation as of 1948 (Deuteronomy 30:1-3)
      • However, there are still some Jews spread around the world, especially in the United States
    • A unified world currency on the hand or forehead is now easily possible and has already come to Australia as of 2016 (Revelation 13:16-17)
    • Leftism is fast becoming a prevalent social value in the world
      • Leftism believes itself to be a moral champion of justice without any connection to God or any religious affiliation
      • Leftists want a totalitarian one-world government
      • Climate change/global warming/sustainability is one of the greatest agendas that motivate people to unify together under a vague anti-God mission
      • Traveling the stars and colonizing other planets is a more modern update of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11)
    • There will be an entire worldwide culture of horrible people
      • Some of the miseries of the world will be from simply being around them (1 Corinthians 5, 2 Timothy 3)
        • People who loves themselves
        • People who love money
        • People who brag about themselves
        • Conceited and self-absorbed people
        • Abusive people
        • People who are disobedient to their parents
        • People ungrateful for what they have
        • People who live unholy lives
        • Unloving and brutal people
        • People who hold grudges
        • People who falsely state things to harm reputations
        • Unrestrained and reckless people
        • People who hate good things
        • People who betray others
        • People who love pleasure more than they love God
        • People who have a form of godliness, but deny any of its power
      • Avoid these people whenever possible, and have nothing to do with them
        • If these people call themselves Christians, don’t even spend time or eat with them

When the final times come, there will be no question that it’s the end

  • It’s not a good idea to guess at what precisely will happen, since prophecy is intentionally mysterious to anyone reading it before it is fulfilled, but some parts are absolutely clear
  • Someone is coming who will work according to Satan’s will, and they will have a lot of influence (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)
    • This person will make peace and all the world leaders will trust him (Daniel 7:20, Revelation 6:1)
    • He’ll make a peace treaty for 7 years (Daniel 9:27)
    • During the tribulation, Satan will demand worship from everyone and command fire from heaven (Revelation 13:13-14)
  • Tribulations are coming that the world has never seen before (Matthew 24:21, Daniel 9:24-27, Revelation 6-18)
    • Some people say that this is over the course of thousands of years, but it’s more likely 7 years
  • Babylon will be established again (Revelation 17)
  • Christ will come back and defeat Babylon, the world and Satan (Revelation 18-19)
  • Satan will be thrown into hell (Revelation 20:1-3)
  • Christ will set up a kingdom on Jerusalem that will last 1000 years (Revelation 20:4-6)
    • Some Christians are dispensationalists and believe that Israel has now become the Body of Christ
      • That can’t work in light of Scripture (Romans 11:17-18)

There is discussion about Christ taking up all of the believers before the final times, also known as a rapture

  • Some people falsely attribute some passages to the rapture
    • Jesus says that one man will be taken out of two walking, but it’s clear that it’s talking about extreme genocide (Matthew 24:40-41, Luke 17:34-37)
  • At the same time, the Bible makes it very clear that the believers will be taken out of the tribulation (Revelation 7:9-14)
    • There isn’t much evidence to go either way
    • If Christians are taken out of the tribulation spiritually, the world won’t seem to care much
      • This could be because they’re too preoccupied with other tribulation problems or because there aren’t many Christians left
    • Alternately, if persecution increases before the tribulation happens then Christians might actually be eradicated from the earth
